Welcome to the 2009 “People Meeting Challenges – Making Change” Annual Conference! Big Sis & Company along with Financial Skys, LLC have put together a wonderful event that focuses on the community as a whole.  

This year will prove to be different than the previous years due to the fact that it will be a 2-day event.  Each day will have informative information being provided to attendees and will provide a great networking opportunity for all. 

Our Friday event will start things off with a Cocktail Networking Event hosted by Financial Skys, LLC.  The goal of this event will be to encourage current business owners as well as help ones who are looking to start their own business.  The goal of the event is to show people that with the right direction, determination, and help, they can become their own boss! 

      Special speakers from various avenues of business ownership (SBA/SCORE, Minority Owned Business contracts and Grants, Finance, and Commercial Lending) will have mini workshops to provide informative information.  For attendees, this will prove to be an event where they can not only get information on starting their own business but also network with others who share the same goals.  For vendors, this will provide an opportunity for them to display their services and products to a large public audience. 

Saturday’s theme will bring attention to Domestic Violence which plagues the community for both the young and old.  One in Three women are reported to be victims of Domestic Violence.  Domestic Violence ranges from emotional abuse (insults or name calling) to Physical Abuse (kicking, punching, slapping, etc.)  This will be the main focus of the event as we help to bring awareness to this issue.  The Domestic Violence panel will consist of members from local and national organizations.

 In addition, we will focus on other issues that affect the community such as, Health, Beauty, and Finances. We will also have free health screenings, a Fashion Show, and a Step Show from the Lovely Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.! 

 And are you an unsigned artist that would like to submit your demo to a music producer/label? We will be accepting demos too!
